The CRAFT Beta · Release
Pick the right model for a job. Set long-running work down and pick it back up later without losing the thread. The July release makes CRAFT better at both — the small things that turn a smart assistant that forgets into a working partner that remembers.
Know which model to bring
Not every task wants the same model. Some work is quick and easy to check; some is long, open-ended, or hard to pin down. CRAFT can now look at the job in front of you and recommend which Claude Cowork model fits — and tell you why, in plain terms. And this isn’t a hunch: the recommendation rests on a Model Research Log that CRAFT keeps current, so it reflects today’s model landscape rather than a stale rule of thumb.
✓ You’ll know it worked when CRAFT names a specific model and explains the trade-off — how checkable, how long-horizon, and how well-defined the work is — instead of a generic “use the best one.”
Set work down, pick it back up
Long-running work no longer has to be either wide open or finished. A subproject — say, that research thread you started Monday, or a half-built deliverable — can now be suspended, paused with its state intact, and resumed later. It waits for you instead of unravelling:
✓ You’ll know it worked when the subproject is set aside with its state kept, and a later session lists it as suspended and offers to pick it back up.
Also in this release
- Organizable session names. New sessions get a structured name, so your Recent Chats list stays navigable instead of a wall of “Untitled.”
- A more reliable project footer. New projects show their state-keyed status footer correctly from the very first response.
- Boot & lessons. Startup now surfaces any suspended subprojects so nothing quietly goes stale, and the built-in Universal Lessons that steer CRAFT’s judgement have been improved.

Good to know: this is a pre-release (Release Candidate), not a stable “latest” build — free under the CRAFT beta license. Found a rough edge? Feedback is welcome via the repository’s Issues.
